STILL Not Ready - The First Day of High School edition

Me: Brat, you ready?
Brat: I’m ready.

Me: ....Really?

Brat: Okay, lemme get my phone.

Me: Now?

Brat: Oh oh… mama, I need a jacket.

Me: Are you fucking kidding me? It’s one THOUSAND degrees out there
...and it’s only 6AM.

Brat: It might get cold. THE BUS gets cold.

Me: …sigh. NOW? I still have to drop you off so I can go to work, you know.

Brat: Did you sign all my school stuff?

Me: YES. Jesus, girl, are you ready now?

Brat: Yes. I’m ready.

My baby, her first day of High School

*sigh* I'm not.

Oh, man, I hate that first day of high school. It is like the beginning of the end in SO many ways. Sigh...

oh man. High School. I don't even want to think about that!

How did it go?

What is with the jackets? My 5th grader always has to have a jacket. It must have something to do with how cool you are, not how cold you are.

it's crazy how fast they grow. Mine just started 3rd grade. I can't even imagine him in high school!

Those were the words uttered in front halls, lobbies, buses and cars across the country. Gotta love back to school.

High school goes by in a blink. But I guess you know that with your son.

Best of luck!
