The Boy, my oldest, looks nothing like me. He is an exact replica of The Man. So much so, that I have put baby pictures of The Man and the boy side by side and my own mother couldn't tell them apart.
But he does act like me. He's quirky and weird and says completely inappropriate things:
We were in the Base Exchange (PX):
The Boy: Hey Mom, our bagger is left handed like me.
Me(grabbing our bags and heading to the door): How could you possibly know that?
The Boy: Because she's missing her right hand.
At which point, I look back, and sure enough... She's only got one arm. And then I sit on the bench outside and start laughing uncontrollably. Because I find the most inappropriate shit freakin' hilarious. I mean, laughing so hard that I'm crying. The Man walks away from both of us, because I'm sure he is disgusted that his wife & child would laugh at something so ridiculous.
So there you have it. He may not look like me at all, but he IS like me. See? We've got the same completely atrocious sense of humor.

I'm laughing uncontrollably too. That is hilarious! Kids have such a talent for stating the obvious.
I love inappropriate humor! My daughter is the spitting image of her dad (a very nice feminie version), so I grasp onto anything she does that's like me. I'm hoping to groom her sense of humor so that we can laugh together over one armed baggers.
HA! I seriously laughed out loud. awesome. :)
Oh my goodness that is truly hilarious. Laughed out loud.
(Sorry one armed bagging lady!)
Oh the things kids say! Thanks for the laugh!!
I too tend to laugh at inappropriate things/situations...the harder I try to stop the harder it is to stop...it's even worse if someone, is standing right there and getting upset with me because I laugh that much longer and harder.
Thank you for the good laugh this morning I needed it!
That was funny...inappropriate but funny.
Happy POW
I laugh at totally inappropriate things too. Glad I am not alone. Happy POW!
My son and stepson are exactly like that too. They would have loved to see the one-armed bagger, for sure. I'm so glad to hear we are not the only family like that.
Well being a lefty myself I figured it was going to be something much different because us lefties spot that kind of thing a mile away, hehehehe. I sure was surprised to hear it was because she only had the one arm. Isn't it amazing how that fact completely escaped you? Hey, at least he waited until after you left and didn't blurt it out right in front of her though.
So I'm laughing but I feel bad about it... where else could I feel so amused and yet so guilty at the same time??
Happy POW!
At least she wasn't a bagger at the commissary where you would have to watch her struggle with pushing the buggy and unloading the groceries into your trunk, all the while you'd be laughing at your kid! :)
Ha! Well, you are not alone. I always tend to break into an uncontrollable fit of giggles at the most inappropriate times!!
